Centre of Modern Art "Winzavod", Tsekh Belogo gallery
Open daily from June 20 to July 8, 2007
Vladimir Putin has been the number one in the media spotlight for the past seven years. How could we see him anew? ?
And yet, we could. Moreover, the photographs showing now at Winzavod can convince people to see Vladimir Putin from another angle if they used to think he would never change and would go down in history the same as we see him everyday on russian TV.
The images exposed on "The Four Seasons of Vladimir Putin" are a small part of unique collection of photographs compiled in same-name book, published by NexMedia in limited edition in late 2006 (publishers Andrey Kolesnikov and Konstantin Grigorishin).
There are more than 100 pictures on the show all made by Dmitry Azarov, who has snapped the President for Kommersant business daily since 1999, working together with Kommersant reporter Andrey Kolesnikov (the author of such books as "I've Seen Putin", "Putin Saw Me", "To See Putin and Die"). Andrey Kolesnikov in this project provided sarcastic captions for the photographs and wrote a foreword for each of 4 book chapters. Dmitry Azarov, the winner of numerous photographic contests, has regular exhibitions in Moscow. But most of Many of the photos on display never appeared in Kommersant or any other media.

4 seasons of Vladimir Putin are:
Winter. Mountain Ski Season.
Spring. The raining Season.
Summer. The Dead Season.
Autumn.The Velvet Season.
So ambitious attempt to look at Vladimir Putin "through the magnifying glass" is the first ever made by russian photojournalists. These photographs, printed in Prolab, are authentic historical study of the President. It's not usual Court portrait, but the depiction made in complex and controversial ways. Pictures are printed monochrome so as not to distract viewer's attention from the color of emotion, which appears to have overwhelmed the most notorious man in Russia.
