Just before the new year to come, on December 25, at the Rodchenko Photography School Igor Moukhin had a public lecture about genre photography. The term itself argues and discussed, such type of photography is also called street photography, candid photography a nd so on. Igor Moukhin was not talking about the definitions, he was showing his photographs and teling the story of his life as a photographer, since the beginning in the early 80s till nowadays.

Igor Moukhin is a well-known russian photographer, portraying the life of russians at all its' simplicity and surrealism. His works are a document of time and at the same time, they are timeless, they make us analyse the lofe around us. At the beginning he was showing the works of photographers who influenced him, after that the slideshow continued with his first projects down to his recent.

Lots of useful stories and examples had been shared about shooting series and projects, constructing the series, choosing best photographs from lots of frames made. There are always topics, objects and ideas to photograph and they are endlessly gathering around us, the part of the skill is about observing the life around attentivily, seing beauty in ordinary things.

Igor Moukhin was telling the audience that one of the secrets of a good photoprapher is the simpliest principle to shoot things you are interested in, to be curious about life around, permanently looking for a good frame. If you shoot wht you really like, it's clearly seen in the results, pictures are full of energy, deep and tell about you not less than about the subject of your shot. That means they are made in your personal style. It may seem like obvious thoughts, but there is deep philisophical meaning in their simplicity. Those were only part of the things Igor Moukhin was talking about during his public lecture.
